Herts Knattering Knitters and Stitchers, Caffè Nero, Shenley Road, Borehamwood, Friday, from 10.30am

Activities from sewing and stitching to knitting and needle-work are on the menu for a chatty craft group.

Ranging in age from 21 to 81, members meet three times a month to swap and share tips and books, learn new skills and get the latest patterns and product reviews.

Founder Jenny Stilwell, who started the group four years ago after discovering no knitting circles in the area, says: “It’s a great way for crafters to meet others who share their passion. We have also noticed more people wanting to start knitting or learn to crochet, and we are happy to help them.”

In addition to the Monday evening meetings at St Paul’s Lutheran Church Hall, Cranes Way, Jenny hopes the Friday morning session, which started two months ago, will attract new craft enthusiasts.

Entry is free for all ages. Meet towards the back of the cafe.
