Green looks like it’s going to be the fashionable colour to pick on this week at some of the borough’s shopping centres.

Along with the usual selection of footwear and food items, visitors to Brent Cross and The Mall in Edgware will have the opportunity to come away with a selection of tips on how to adopt some of the environmentally friendly trends.

Environmental awareness stalls are being set up in the areas where shoppers are susceptible to scuppering the climate, and it’s important people use the opportunity to pick up bags of ideas.

With so many issues around plastic bags, over purchasing of goods, and carbon emissions still being neglected, hopefully the messages being advertised will stand out to shoppers more than a two for one deal on fish fingers.

There is no doubt coverage on climate issues has increased across all aspects of society and the media in recent years, but a week-long campaign highlighting the importance of making changes to daily routines domestically and in the community, should hit home.

The events are tying in with Recycle Week and World Environment Day, which should mean an influx of environmental information, and leaves little excuse not to get involved with some sort of climate saving activities.
